McCarran Breaks Records Again in May

Traffic at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas hit a new all-time high in May, with more than 4.3 million arriving and departing passengers. That’s an increase of 3.6% over May 2017. Passenger volume is up by 3.1% for the year to date.

International visitation continues to be hot, up 8.8% from a year ago and 5.2% over the same point in 2017. Domestic traffic has roughly 3% increases both for May and YTD.

Spirit continues rapid expansion among the top 5 domestic carriers. With a 28.8% increase in May traffic, they are approaching the volumes of American, which saw a 5.6% decline. Traffic was also up strongly at United in May. Leader Southwest is closer to flat for the month and year to date.
