McCarran Traffic Hits New Heights in July

July statistics from McCarran International Airport show a new record for passengers arriving or departing from the Las Vegas metro area. With more than 4.4 million people passing through the airport, McCarran posted a 2.3% increase over July 2017. Year to date traffic is up an even healthier 2.9% compared to the same point in 2017.

After a sluggish 2017, international passenger traffic continues to rebound, up 6.5% over the year and 5.4% for the year to date. Domestic traffic posted a more modest gain of 1.9% in July.

Trends among the top domestic carriers continued, with Spirit now comfortably sitting in 4th place. Their explosive growth continued with a 27.2% increase in passengers over July 2017. Despite a very strong 18.3% growth rate in July, United could not keep up. Southwest remains on top by a long shot, but its relatively low growth continues as well. Delta saw 4% growth, lower than its average for the year to date, While American saw another month of YOY declines.
