The latest workforce statistics are out from Nevada’s Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation (DETR). The unemployment rate was 5% in November, the same rate as October and 0.2 points lower than it was a year ago.
Nevada added 1,800 seasonally adjusted jobs in November, evenly split between the private and public sectors. This brings total employment to 1.35 million. The State has gained 35,100 jobs since November of last year, a growth of 2.7 percent, compared to 1.4 percent nationwide.
Professional/business services, construction, and leisure/hospitality are the top three sectors for nominal job growth in 2017 to date, with education/health services a close fourth.
